There once was a beautiful bay called Coral Bay and it was a home for many ocean creatures like Olivia the octopus and her best friend Lori the lobster.
All the creatures of Coral Bay lived happily together as a big happy family and everyday from sunrise to sunset they all celebrated their happy day in Coral Bay. But that would only last until Tony the tiger shark came home to Coral Bay each night. Because he was a tiger shark, everyone feared him and they would run and hide once he joined in the celebration.
Poor Tony, he didn't have a clue. He just wanted to be a part of their happy family in Coral Bay, and he had no idea how everyone really felt about him. Then one day, Tony overheard Olivia and Lori talking about how no one wanted him around and how they all wished he would leave Coral Bay forever. Tony was heartbroken. He meant no harm, he only wanted to belong, but he realized he would never be accepted into their happy family and decided he wasn't going to stay where he was not wanted, so with a heavy heart he sadly left his home in Coral Bay.
When everyone learned that Tony was gone, they couldn't be happier! Without Tony, they would celebrate all night and day. At first no one noticed, but over time some populations grew much larger. No one could explain why and no one seemed to care as long as Tony was gone. So for awhile they all lived as a big happy family in Coral Bay. As time passed the octopus population grew and grew. Olivia was proud of her growing family but unfortunately for Lori, the octopuses began eating all of the lobsters in the bay.
And soon they were after Lori! Olivia wasn't about to let her cousins eat her best friend and so she helped Lori escaped from the octopuses deadly tentacles. Lori swam desperately away from Coral Bay when she suddenly came upon Tony the tiger shark. "What's wrong Lori?" he asked with a look of concern, "Why aren't you in Coral Bay?" Lori explained how the octopuses were eating all of the lobsters. "How is that possible?" Tony wondered, "There aren't that many octopuses in Coral Bay". "There is now" Lori replied, "Since you've left, there's so many of them". Tony realized that it was because he wasn't there to eat them, "No wonder Olivia hates me" he said with a sigh. Suddenly, Lori made a discovery! "That was your purpose in Coral Bay!" she said excitedly. "By eating the octopuses, you kept their population in check." Tony began to understand "and so the lobster population could grow." He added. "Right!" Lori exclaimed, "You kept balance in our bay! You HAVE to come back Tony! The future of Coral Bay depends on you. We NEED you!"
Tony was so happy, finally he would have a place where he was wanted and accepted. He couldn't wait to go back home to Coral Bay. Just as they were about to leave, they came upon the octopuses who had tracked Lori down! Olivia tried to stop the octopuses but they hungrily approached Lori explaining "It's all a part of life's little cycle. Creatures like Lori, live only so THEY can provide food for US!" Lori shook in fear as the octopuses slithered toward her, but Tony quickly stepped in and answered "Just as YOU octopuses provide food for ME!" The octopuses quickly swam for their lives but they were no match for Tony and soon they became his lunch. Naturally, no one was happier than Lori the lobster. In fact, even Olivia was grateful to Tony, after all he had saved her best friend. Tony was a hero! And so Olivia, Lori and all the creatures of Coral Bay welcomed Tony back home for now they realized the important role he played. And with Tony home, balance was restored in Coral Bay and for the rest of their lives all of the creatures there lived together as a big happy family.
