Whale Shark

The whale shark is an endangered, harmless gentle shark and is the largest fish in the ocean, although it is a shark, it feeds like a whale. The whale shark is easily recognized by its unusually huge size and striking mottle appearance. It has a very short snout with a very wide terminal mouth. Its teeth are minute and extremely numerous forming about 300 rows each with hundreds of teeth. This huge, sluggish, filter feeder feeds on plankton, crustaceans, squid, small schooling fishes.
